Dell allowed only two goals on 35 shots in the Sharks’ loss in Philadelphia last Saturday. Dell is rarely called upon, but he has played very, very well in his limited duty so far this season. The 27-year-old is 6-3-1 with a 2.05 GAA and .930 SV% on the year and has gone 2-3-1 with a 2.32 GAA and .925 SV% in six road appearances thus far.
Jones allowed one goal on 22 shots in the Sharks’ win in New Jersey on Sunday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Jones, who is tied four fourth in the NHL in wins (28). In his first start against the Panthers, Jones stopped 22 shots in a 4-2 win.
The Sharks have recalled Nikolay Goldobin from San Jose (AHL).
Goldobin, 21, has recorded 13 goals and 24 assists (37 points) in 43 games with the Barracuda this season. He had one goal and one assist in nine NHL games a season ago and his season debut could come on Wednesday.
Couture (upper-body) is on the ice for warmups; expected to play vs. New Jersey.
Couture missed the Sharks’ game on Saturday, but is on the ice for warmups and is expected to be in the lineup in New Jersey this afternoon. Couture has 38 points (19G / 19A) in 54 games this season, including seven goals, six assists (13 points) and 2.21 shots per game in his last 14 games.
Couture (upper-body) will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
Couture was a late scratch on Saturday because of an upper-body injury, but head coach Pete DeBoer said that Couture is feeling much better today and is listed as a game-time decision. Monitor his status as the Sharks’ hit the ice for pre-game warmups at Noon ET.
Jones was pulled after he allowed three goals on 12 shots in the Sharks’ loss in Boston on Thursday. Aaron Dell played very well yesterday, but they’ll go back to Jones on the tail-end of a back-to-back this afternoon. Jones has lost three in a row while allowing a combined 10 goals on 76 shots (.868 SV%).
Dell will start Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.

The shutout came against the Flyers, who he’ll face again this afternoon. He stopped all 21 shots he faced in late-December.
The Sharks have sent Joakim Ryan to San Jose (AHL).
Ryan, 23, was a seventh round pick in 2012 and has nearly topped his career-high in AHL points already this season. The New Jersey native has 25 points (5G / 20A) in 39 games with the Barracuda and patiently awaits his NHL debut.

Carpenter was back in the lineup last night in Boston after sitting for two straight games and has totalled four points (2G / 2A) in 11 games with the Sharks. He returns to the Barracuda where he has registered 20 points (8G / 12A) in 29 games this season.
The Sharks have recalled Tim Heed from San Jose (AHL).
Heed has been called up a few occasions, but has only appeared in one game with the Sharks this season. The 26-year-old blueliner has posted fantastic numbers with the Barracuda so far this season, collecting 11 goals and 26 assists (37 points) in 34 games—that is good for second on the team and leads all San Jose defensemen.
