The Devils initially said that Tallinder would be sidelined 6-8 weeks. It will be six weeks tomorrow Thursday). Eight weeks will be March 15, about the time the veteran defenseman has his next medical checkup.
Very safe to drop Tallinder if you haven't already.

The news that Devils defenseman Henrik Tallinder has a blood clot in his lower left leg and will miss six to eight weeks came as a surprise to the entire team.
Tallinder was a late scratch and will be out until March at the very earliest. The Stockholm, Sweden native has six assists over 39 games. Rookie Matt Taormina will replace him in the lineup.

Tallinder has missed the last five games, giving way to rookies Matt Taormina and Alexander Urbom. Safe to say he wont have to earn his place in the lineup when he returns.
