Gionta has been with the Islanders since late-December, but will finally make his Islanders debut this afternoon. The 33-year-old had one goal and two assists in seven AHL games before being recalled. Gionta has 50 career points (15G / 35A) in 270 career NHL games. He will replace Cal Clutterbuck in the lineup.
Gionta was injured on his first shift on Tuesday and missed Thursday’s practice but will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Islanders. Gionta has eight points (1G / 7A) in 58 games as the Devils’ fourth line centre.
Gionta (hand) will return to the Devils lineup on Tuesday.
Gionta has been out since December 29th with a hand injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Sabres. It is a perfect time for him to return as he gets set to take on his older brother Brian.
Gionta (lower-body) left Tuesday’s game and did not return.
Gionta was injured while blocking a shot in Tuesday’s loss to the Penguins. He played just 2:02 before heading to the dressing room for the evening. The Devils did not have an update on Gionta post-game.
Gionta (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve.
Gionta will miss his second straight game after suffering an ankle injury on Saturday. He is eligible to return on Saturday vs. Buffalo, but there is no indication if he will be ready or not. He has two assists in 21 games, so he is not fantasy relevant.
Those players who aren't in the lineup and did not skate with the second group today were goalie Jeff Frazee and forwards Stece Zalewski, Chad Wiseman, Stephan Gionta and Matt Anderson. All were assigned to Albany.
