He will not play for the remainder of the season in either the NHL or AHL, as he would need to clear waivers to remain in Worcester.
Sheppard will remain with the team for the rest of the season and should be in great shape to compete next year.

Conditioning stints have time limit. To keep Sheppard in WOR, he would have had to clear waivers. And NHL rosters can expand after 2/27.
Sounds like Sheppard could get back on the ice soon. He hasn't played a game in nearly two years.

James Sheppard update: When #sjsharks went on long roadie, he went to WOR to continue rehab. Formal conditioning assignment began last nite.
Expect Sheppard to return in around two weeks.

Sheppard has missed close to two full seasons. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the speed of the game.

Hmmm. James Sheppard just skated onto the ice here - not wearing orange "no contact" jersey. Maybe they forgot to pack it.
Sheppard has not played in over a year and likely will need a few more days before drawing in.

Considering Sheppard hasn't played in well over a year he figures to play the two-week maximum in the AHL.

Still no timetable for Sheppard's return from knee damage, but advised both he and Niittymaki will be traveling to DAL-COL for practice time
Sheppard just returned to the ice so getting back in game shape should be hard. Expect him to miss at least another month as he gets more comfortable with his surgically damaged knee.
