The other bit of good news Monday was that Marty Havlat (hamstring surgery) looked good as he skated on a line with Benn Ferriero and Brad Winchester. Havlat, as usual, declined to put any timetable on his return. But he clearly is getting closer, and intends to travel with the Sharks on their upcoming, four-game road trip.

DETROIT - Injured Sharks forward Marty Havlat is scheduled to return to action in mid-March, Todd McLellan said after the Sharks-Red Wings game on Sunday afternoon.

“I think from this point forward it’s about getting his strength up and conditioning,” the Sharks coach continued. “I can’t pinpoint a date for you, but the sooner the better.”

Havlat is still on crutches which is a far cry away from getting back on the ice. Don't expect the oft-injured forward to play any time soon.

Considering Havlat can't resume hockey-related activities until mid-January it is probably safe to keep him out of your plans until February. Just another notch on his injury-marred resume.
