Gillies has played on the second line for a few games now but could be more productive against his former team. The big forward has a goal and an assist in eight games.
The news out of St. Louis is that Colton Gillies has been placed on waivers. Gillies is currently with the team, but he’ll find out tomorrow by 11:00 a.m. if he’s been claimed by another club.
The former 16th overall pick has just two assists through 38 games. As a fourth liner he holds no fantasy hockey value.
Gillis has two assists through 31 games and gets some time to heal his bumps and bruises. Expect a forward like David McInytre or Kyle Rau to get the call.
Colton Gillies picked up right where he left off in the Houston Aeros and is showing he's taking nothing for granted with his one-way deal. He was fast, assertive, physical on the forecheck and looked very good on a line with Eric Nystrom and Brad Staubitz.
The former 16th overall pick continues to work hard in training camp as he tries to earn one of the available fourth line spots. The 6'4" left wing still lacks any offensive pedigree as he registered only 11 goals with the Houston Aeros of the AHL last season.
