Martinez gets into his first game since November 12th. The Rochester Hills, Michigan native scored two goals in 16 games prior to getting hurt. Expect him to play on the bottom defensive pairing.

Alec Martinez is on the ice in a no-contact jersey but Dustin Penner is not on the ice. Penner and Martinez had a lengthy workout yesterday.
Doesn't sound like either player will return tomorrow against the Blackhawks.

“(Martinez is) skating. He’s not able to participate in the practice, no contact. It’s improvement, but he’s not going to be ready for these two games, and still a little bit away from playing.’’
Martinez showed signs of offense last season after dominating the AHL but has yet to show that this year. He likely won't get picked up if you were to dump him to the waiver wire.
