Weaver (concussion) was been cleared for contact on Wednesday.
Weaver has missed the last three games with a concussion, but was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. He skated on the fourth pair this afternoon, so don’t expect him to be in the lineup on Thursday vs. the Ducks.
Weaver missed Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury, but was listed as a game-time decision for tonight's game. He is on the ice for warmups which suggests he will play. Expect Nathan Beaulieu to come out of the lineup if Weaver plays.
The Habs have re-signed Mike Weaver to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million.
After coming over from the Panthers in a trade, Weaver had seven points (1G / 6A) and was a plus-9 in 17 regular season games and had four points (1G / 3A) and a plus-8 in 17 postseason games with the Habs. He will likely shuffle in and out of the lineup as a sixth and seventh defenseman in 2014-15.
The Panthers have placed Mike Weaver (illness) on IR.
Weaver has been battling and undisclosed illness for the last week and it will keep him out in the near future as well. In the mean time the recently acquired Dylan Olsen has been recalled from San Antonio.
Weaver was expected to dress tonight after sitting out on Saturday, but he will sit out once again while Matt Gilroy suits up. Weaver is not a realistic fantasy consideration, he has one assist and a minus-9 rating in 20 games.
SUNRISE, Fla. Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to a two-year contract extension with D Mike Weaver.
Over the last three seasons, Weaver has established himself as one of the more steady defensive d-men in the game. It is no shocker how the Panthers felt about him or that they were willing to give him an extension.
