The Islanders have signed Steve Bernier to a one-year, two-way deal.
Bernier, 31, had six points (1G / 5A) in 24 games with the Islanders last season. The veteran forward has 230 career points (105G / 125A) in 633 games with the Sharks, Sabres, Canucks, Panthers, Devils and Islanders.
The Devils have recalled Steve Bernier from Albany (AHL).
Bernier, 29, has recorded one goal and four assists in nine games with Albany this season. He had just 12 points (3G / 9A) in 78 games with New Jersey a season ago. He was at Devils' practice this morning, skating on the fourth line with Stephen Gionta and Tuomo Ruutu.
Right wing Steve Bernier plans to take pre-game warm-ups and hopes to play in this afternoon’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after appearing to injure his right shoulder when he crashed into the boards during Monday’s practice.
“Right now, I’m doing (some) treatment and I’m going to take warm-up and see how I feel,” Bernier said this morning. Jacob Josefson will also take warm-ups and play if Bernier is unable to.
