EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jakub Kindl was back on the ice Monday, but it will be at least another week before he is ready to play.
Kindl will miss another week before getting back into game action. Through 50 games, he has a goal and 12 points.
Forwards Pavel Datsyuk (coming off arthroscopic knee surgery) and Todd Bertuzzi (strained groin) and defenseman Jakub KIndl (upper-body injury) are all practicing
Kindl is also an option to play tomorrow. Through 50 games, he has a goal and 12 points.
Defenseman Jakub Kindl left the game in the first period with an upper-body injury and will not return.
Kindl is the latest Red Wings defender to get hurt. In his second full season with the team he has a goal and 12 points. Expect the team to make a roster move if he can't play.
This will put Jakub Kindl back in the lineup, for now, and might prompt general manager Ken Holland to look for a depth defenseman, in addition to a forward, by Monday's 3 p.m. trade deadline.
Kindl should fill in well on the third pairing. He scored a goal and 11 points in 47 games.
