The Red Wings have recalled Jakub Kindl from Grand Rapids (AHL).
Kindl had one goal in two games during his conditioning stint. The Red Wings likely would have liked to keep him there for a few more games, but with Kyle Quincey questionable for Saturday, Kindl has been recalled as insurance.

Kindl has not played since December 27th because of an elbow injury. He will play a few games with the Griffins before returning to the Red Wings and likely replacing Alexey Marchenko on the blue line.
Kindl has missed the last five games with an elbow injury, but was back at practice on Friday morning. He is eligible to return to the lineup on Saturday vs. the Capitals, but there is no word if he will.
Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said that Kindl is “a little banged up” and won’t play tonight. Babcock wasn’t sure if Kindl will go on IR, but if he does expect Xavier Ouellet to be recalled. Brian Lashoff will be in the lineup tonight in Boston.
Kindl served as a healthy scratch in the Red Wings’ last four games, but will draw back into the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. He will be paired with Xavier Ouellet and man the point on the second power-play unit tonight. He has four points (2G / 2A) in 16 games this season.
Kindl has missed the last seven games with a sore knee, but will replace Brian Lashoff on the Red Wings blue line tonight vs. the Devils. Kindl has registered one goal and 10 assists with a minus-11 rating in 50 games this season.
Kindl missed the last two games before the break with a sprained MCL. His knee has not healed enough for him to return to the Red Wings lineup on Wednesday or Thursday. The Red Wings have recalled Ryan Sproul as their seventh defenseman. Look for Kindl to return next Tuesday vs. the Devils.
Kindl appears to be healthy scratch tonight with Jonathan Ericsson returning.
Kindl has just one assist with a minus-1 rating in his last 10 games. With Kindl coming out that likely means Danny DeKeyser moves to the top power-play alongside Niklas Kronwall, while Brendan Smith slides onto the the second unit.
Kindl will serve as a healthy scratch tonight vs. the Maple Leafs.
With Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) drawing back in, Kindl will take a seat. Kindl has not recorded a point and is a minus-8 in his last nine games. DeKeyser will take his spot on the left point on the second power-play unit.
