Ribeiro is expected to return to the Predators lineup on Tuesday.
Ribeiro was a heathy scratch for two straight games, but is expected to be back in the lineup tonight, replacing Craig Smith. Ribeiro has four goals and 18 assists (22 points) in 41 games so far this season.
The Predators have signed Mike Ribeiro to a one-year, $1.05 million deal.
Ribeiro, 34, was bought out by the Coyotes after scoring 16 goals with 31 assists and a minus-13 rating in 80 games. Ribeiro has been known to have some behavioural issues in the locker room, but the Predators take very little risk on the crafty centre by signing him to a cheap, one-year contract.
Ribeiro likely a healthy scratch for the second straight game.
Ribeiro was scratched on Tuesday and it looks like he will be scratched once again tonight in Jersey. This speaks volumes as to what the Coyotes think of Ribeiro's recent play. They are clinging to the final playoff spot in the West, yet are benching the veteran play-maker.
The Coyotes let one slip away on Monday, so they are making a couple of changes for Tuesday's meeting with the Penguins. Ribeiro, who was a minus-4 with one assist in his last two games, will be replaced by pugilist Paul Bissonnette.
Ribeiro (lower-body) is a game-time decision tonight.
Ribeiro left Monday's game after playing just 10:01 and could be held out of tonight's game. Ribeiro currently ranks second on the team with 33 points (11G / 21A) in 45 games. Monitor his status in pre-game warmups.
Ribeiro leads the Capitals with 8 points (1 G, 7 A) and has been the lone bright spot in an otherwise gloomy start for the Capitals. The Caps are hoping his playmaking will set up some scoring chances for Ovechkin to get off the cold-streak he is on right now.
