Mueller, 26, was attempting to make an NHL comeback after spending last season in Switzerland. Mueller clearly did not have a good enough training camp to stick on a deep Blues roster, but he may be claimed by another NHL team.
The St. Louis Blues have signed Peter Mueller to a one-year, two-way deal.
Mueller, 26, was the eighth overall pick in the 2006 NHL Draft, but pen last season in Switzerland playing with Kloten. He had 24 goals and 22 assists (46 points) in 49 games. In 297 career NHL games, Mueller has racked up 63 goals and 97 assists (160 points). The Blues have one of the deepest forward groups in the NHL so it may be difficult for Mueller to crack the team out of camp.
Joe Sacco said, even if Kobasew hadn’t been hurt, not to read too much into the fact that Peter Mueller wasn’t among the top 12 forwards in line combos today. But the fact is, Mueller’s recent torso injury (and it was a torso, not a concussion!) was a setback in that it makes it a bit more justified for Sacco to play other guys when the team is playing so well right now.
Mueller should stay in the lineup tomorrow but likely plays on a bottom line. Limited to only 16 games this season, the oft-injured forward scored five goals and seven points.
Coach Joe Sacco does not like to make line changes during a winning streak. However, Mueller appears to be fully healthy. Sidelined since February 11th with a torso injury, he has five goals and seven points on the season.
Mueller (torso) and Galiardi (shoulder) practiced in orange no-contact sweaters. They are on injured reserve. The team has not sent anyone down to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League so Mueller and Galiardi might not rejoin the 23-man roster and play in Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings at the Pepsi Center.
Sounds like both players miss tomorrow's game. Mueller scored five goals and seven points in 15 games before getting hurt.
Mueller out. The medical news wasn't as positive for Avs winger Peter Mueller, who will miss his third consecutive game tonight with a torso injury. Mueller's latest injury is not concussion-related, but he has not skated the last two days.
As we expected, Mueller probably misses another game or two. He has five goals and seven points in 15 games.
