The Bruins have re-signed John-Michael Liles to a one-year deal worth $2 million.
Liles, 35, racked up six assists in 17 games with the Bruins after he was brought in from Carolina at the Trade Deadline. Liles is a solid offensive-defenseman who brings some offensive-punch and experience to the Bruins’ third-pairing. Overall, he had six goals and 15 assists (21 points) in 81 games last year.
The Bruins have acquired John-Michael Liles from the Hurricanes for a third round pick, fifth round pick and Anthony Camara.
Liles, 35, has enjoyed a strong 11-year NHL career and now he heads to his fourth team. He has picked up six goals and nine assists (15 points) in 64 games with the Hurricanes this season. He will likely make his Bruins’ debut on Tuesday.
Liles (illness) will return to the Hurricanes lineup on Saturday.
Liles has missed the last three games with an illness, but will return tonight vs. the Rangers. He has one goal and six assists in 22 games this season. He will replace Michal Jordan in the lineup and skate with Tim Gleason.
Liles was reportedly "banged up" in Tuesday's loss to the Sabres and that kept him off of the ice this morning. The Hurricanes take on the Rangers tomorrow and Liles should be in the lineup, but make sure during the morning skate.
Liles (concussion) will return to the Hurricanes lineup on Friday.
Liles has missed the last six games with a concussion he suffered on March 7th, but will be back tonight in Chicago. He has recorded one goal and three assists in 22 games with the Hurricanes. He will skate with Andrej Sekera tonight.
