The Panthers have sent Denis Malgin to Springfield (AHL).
Malgin has often served as a healthy scratch over the last month and has collected just eight points (4G / 4A) in 39 games this season. The Panthers want to get Malgin more playing time, so he will head to Springfield for the first time this season.
Malgin will be a healthy scratch on a Saturday vs. the Canucks.
Malgin has picked up eight points (4G / 4A) in 28 games this season. He has played fairly well, but will get the night off tonight vs. the Canucks. Seth Griffith will play with Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr with Malgin out.
Malgin will skate on the Panthers' top line on Monday.
Jonathan Marchessault is out with a lower-body injury, so Malgin will skate with Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr in Boston. The first year forward has four goals and four assists (eight points) in 25 games this season.
Malgin is expected to make the Panthers out of training camp.
Malgin, 19, was a fourth round pick (102nd overall) in the 2015 draft and he is expected to make the Panthers after Nick Bjugstad suffered a hand injury in training camp. Malgin spent last season in his native country of Switzerland, where he registered 17 points (5G / 12A) in 38 games with Zurich SC.
