The Blackhawks have signed Artemi Panarin to a two-year contract extension worth $12 millions ($6.0M AAV).
The Blackhawks have a tough salary-cap situation, which is why they couldn’t give more term to Panarin. The young Russian winger has picked up 15 goals and 22 assists (37 points) in 37 games this season and has 114 points (45G / 69A) in 117 career NHL games.
Panarin (illness) will return to the Blackhawks lineup on Saturday.
Panarin missed the last two games with an illness, but is set to return to the Blackhawks lineup on Saturday. The 24-year-old rookie leads all first-year players with 52 points (18G / 24A) in 56 games this season.
After being a late scratch on Tuesday, Panarin will miss a second straight game vs. the Stars. With Panarin out, Richard Panik will skate on the second line with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane. Panarin remains day-to-day.
Panarin (illness) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.
Panarin missed the Blackhawks’ morning skate because of an illness and he is listed as a game-time decision. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups, which get underway at 8:00 p.m ET. If Panarin can’t play, look for Teuvo Teravainen to move into the top-6 and for Jiri Sekac to get into the lineup.
Panarin (upper-body) will play on Wednesday vs. the Rangers.
Panarin was sidelined with an upper-body injury for the majority of training camp, but the young Russian played in the Blackhawks season finale and is set to make his NHL debut tonight vs. the Rangers. He will start on a line with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane and makes for a sneaky, low-priced DraftKings play.
