White draws back in against his former team after missing four games. Prior to getting hurt he scored three goals and seven points through 15 games. He figures to take his normal slot next to Nicklas Lidstrom.
White will start the season on the right side of Hall-of-Famer Nicklas Lidstrom. He could be a really nice sleeper pick if the Wings give him Brian Rafalski's playing time and he succeeds.
****The obvious Ian White update: He felt better on the ice than he expected to do and if the training staff gives the green light, he’ll be in the lineup. Expect all that to happen.
Defenseman Ian White looked downright chipper Sunday and pronounced himself healthy to return to the ice for practice Monday. He hopes to play in Game Three on Tuesday night at Staples Center.
