The Ducks have claimed Chris Wagner off of waivers from Colorado.
Wagner, 24, was a fifth round pick of the Ducks in 2010 and was with the Ducks’ organization from 2012-16 before being claimed off of waivers by the Avalanche in October. He now returns to Anaheim, where he will head to Norfolk (AHL).

Wagner failed to record a point in 11 games with the Ducks this season, but had two points (1G / 1A) in three contests with San Diego (AHL). Wagner will stay with the Avalanche and could make his Avs’ debut as soon as Tuesday.

Wagner, 24, has one goal and one assist in three games with San Diego this season. He failed to record a point in his only game with the Ducks this season. Wagner is expected to draw into the lineup for Chris Stewart tonight.
Wagner (undisclosed) is not expected to play in Game 3.
Wagner was injured early in Game 2 and it looks like he will be held out of tonight’s game in Winnipeg. With Wagner and Nate Thompson both sidelined, it looks like Tomas Fleischmann will centre the Ducks’ fourth line.

Wagner played 10:35 on Friday, the only action he saw during his recall. His return to the AHL makes room for Tomas Fleischmann as well as suggests that Nate Thompson should be back in the lineup tonight.

Wagner, 23, was the 122nd overall pick in the 2010 draft and has never played an NHL game. Wagner got off to a blistering pace in the AHL this season, scoring four goals in two games. There is no word if Wagner will make his NHL debut during the Ducks' home opener on Friday.
