The Lightning have signed J.T. Brown to a two-year contract extension.
Brown, 25, had eight goals and 14 assists (22 points) in 78 games with the Lightning last season. He has amassed 51 points (15G / 36A) in 198 career NHL games and has settled in nicely in the Lightning’s bottom six over the last three seasons.
Brown (upper-body) is back at Lightning practice on Monday.
Brown missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury he suffered early in Friday's clash with the Jets. Brown returning to practice and Jonathan Marchessault and Mike Blunden being reassigned to Syracuse (AHL) this morning suggests that Brown will be back in the Lightning lineup on Tuesday. Expect a full update after practice.

Brown suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Friday's game and did not return. With Brown unlikely to play, the Lightning will have to recall another forward from Syracuse before Saturday's meeting with the Wild.

Brown is a 23-year-old winger who has four goals and six assists (10 points) in 13 games with Norfolk (AHL). With the injury to Steven Stamkos the Lightning will have to undoubtedly juggle their lineup to try and replace the lost production.

Brown just finished his second year with the U. of Minnesota-Duluth, scoring 24 goals and 47 points in 39 games. He should burn a year off his entry-level contract before the end of the regular season.
