The Sabres signed Marcus Foligno to a one-year contract worth $2.25 million on July 14th.
Since breaking into the NHL in 2011-12, Foligno has seen his point-production rise a little bit in each season, reaching 23 points (10G / 13A) in 75 games last year. Still not great production from the 24-year-old, but another one-year deal should motivate him for more in 2016-17.
Foligno (hand) was a full participant in Sabres practice on Saturday.
Foligno has been out since December 21st, but he is getting really close to being back in the Sabres lineup. He is not expected to play tonight vs. the Stars, but he could return tomorrow vs. the Islanders.
Foligno has been out since December 21st after he underwent hand surgery. He was expected to miss six weeks, but today marks the five and a half week point. He participated in practice with a non-contact jersey, so he will need to shed that sweater before he returns.
Foligno has been sent back to Buffalo with what is being called a “significant hand injury” that he suffered on Sunday vs.the Bruins. Joel Armia has been recalled and will make his NHL debut tonight in Foligno’s place.
Foligno (shoulder) will be back in the Sabres lineup on Tuesday.
Foligno has been out since November 1st and he has missed four games with a shoulder injury. He will be back in on a line with Cody McCormick and Chris Stewart. He has two goals and one assist this season.
The Sabres have signed Marcus Foligno to a two-year, $3.75 million deal.
Foligno signs a very cap-managable contract to stay in Buffalo a year after scoring seven goals with 12 assists (19 points) in 74 games last year. The 22-year-old has all the tools to be a good NHL player and the additions the Sabres made yesterday should help Foligno continue to grow.
Foligno (knee) will return to the Sabres lineup on Tuesday.
Originally, Foligno's knee injury was believed to be a structural injury, but turned out to be more of a bone bruise. He missed the last two games, but will be in the lineup vs. the Wings tomorrow. He has seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 70 games.
