Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier today announced that defensemen Brayden McNabb and TJ Brennan have been recalled on an emergency basis from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
McNabb gets another look with the team. He scored a goal and five points in his first 21 games with the Sabres.
Mcnabb was playing on the top pairing before getting hurt but may see the AHL for conditioning purposes. The rookie has a goal and five points through 20 games.
Rookie defenseman Brayden McNabb was a healthy scratch against the Penguins on Saturday. The reason wasn't for his poor play, Ruff said, the decision was completely matchup-based on wanting a lineup with a bit more offense.
Expect the rookie blue liner to get back on the blue line tonight. He has no fantasy hockey value as a player still looking for his first NHL point.
Coach Lindy Ruff was coy on his plans but said in no uncertain terms that McNabb, whose physical presence has been impressive in his seven-game stint, is staying in the lineup for now.
McNabb has no points in seven games with a minus-2 rating. He has no fantasy hockey value at this point.
