#NHLJets recall Zach Redmond from conditioning assignment with St. John's IceCaps. Redmond earned two assists in two games over the weekend.
Like the Karlsson return, this is nothing short of spectacular. Redmond suffered a life-threatning laceration to his leg in practice earlier this season. He expected to miss the rest of the season because of the incident, but he is already back in the NHL. With Zach Bogosian out with a concussion, the door is open for Redmond to get back in the lineup. We'll have to wait and see if it is him, Derek Meech or Jacob Trouba tonight.
D Zach Redmond suffered a cut to his leg. Medical staff on ice now.
Redmond fell during a 1-on-1 drill, ended up on the ice and a teammate stepped on the back of his knee, causing a deep cut. Redmond was taken to hospital by ambulance and the Jets said he was undergoing surgery early Thursday afternoon. We’ll provide updates as they become available.
Others sent to St. John's today: forwards John Albert, Akim Aliu, Kevin Clark, Mike Forney, Riley Holzapfel, Eric O'Dell, Shawn Weller and Shayne Wiebe, defencemen Ben Chiarot, Mark Flood, Arturs Kulda, Julian Melchiori, Travis Ramsey, Zach Redmond and Cody Sol plus goaltenders Chris Carrozzi, Peter Mannino and Edward Pasquale.
