Sounds like Stafford is 'Player X' aka the unknown, injured Sabres forward. The Milwaukee native is following up a 31-goal campaign with four goals and 12 points in 22 games. If he can't skate tonight, look for Paul Szczechura to take his place.
Stafford moves up to the top PP unit. The scoring forward has four goals and 11 points which is a far cry from his 31-goal output of last season. Hopefully a line change will give him a boost.
