Jordan Leopold to start off playing with Kevin Shattenkirk but will eventually get a look with Pietrangelo #stlblues
This is good news for Leopold's fantasy value. Shattenkirk is 15th in the NHL in terms of defenseman scoring with 20 points while Pietrangelo is 17th with 19. Leopold should be much more valuable in St. Louis than he was in Buffalo.

BUF trades D Jordan Leopold to STL for a second round draft pick and a conditional fifth round draft pick.
Leopold has two goals, six assists and a minus-6 in 24 games this season. Leopold is a solid defenseman who can contribute on the offensive end. He put up 24 points in 79 games last season. Moving to a better team should increase his fantasy value, however he is still a low-end fantasy option.

Leopold has missed the Sabres last nine games but he will be back on the blueline tonight. Buffalo continues to struggle and defence is a big part of their problems, so getting Leopold back should certainly help.

Leopold has 1 G, 3 A and is a -7 in 16 games this season. The Sabres defence has been bad this year and this is simply Lindy Ruff trying to wake his players up.

The injuries continue to pile up in Buffalo with Leopold the next player to fall. Prior to getting hurt he scored five goals and nine points through 24 games. Look for the team to recall rookie T.J. Brennan to take his place in the lineup.

BUFFALO — Right now, there’s a forgotten man on arguably the NHL’s deepest blue line. Never mind he just scored 13 goals, led the team in ice time and enjoyed a career season. The Sabres have newer, shinier and younger defensemen grabbing all the attention.
Leopold scored 10 goals through last January but faded down the stretch, conceding offensive minutes to Andrej Sekera and Marc-Andre Gragnani. Expect him to approach 30 points this season but he will need to now compete with Christian Ehrhoff, Tyler Myers, Gragnani and Sekera for offensive minutes.

The Sabres are expected to get a huge boost tonight on the blue line. Jordan Leopold, who led Buffalo defensemen with 13 goals, is likely to return to the lineup for the first time since breaking his hand March 25, The News has learned.
