The Panthers have recalled Shane O’Brien from San Antonio (AHL).
O’Brien, 31, has played in four games with Florida this season, registering one assist. With a suspension looming for Dmitry Kulikov and Willie Mitchell still out, O’Brien has been recalled to fill-in for the time being.
The Panthers have signed Shane O'Brien to a one-year, two-way deal.
O'Brien, 31, was in Panthers' camp on a professional tryout and impressed enough to earn a two-way contract. O'Brien split last season between the Calgary and Abbotsford (AHL). In 45 games with the Flames, he had three assists, 58 penalty minutes and a minus-8 rating.
PHOENIX — Avalanche defenseman Shane O’Brien, who has missed the past three games with a knee injury, rejoined the team here yesterday and skated hard this morning with today’s three healthy scratches
O'Brien is listed as out indefinitely with a knee injury so his presence in practice is a good sign. The bruising defender has a goal and 13 points on the season. Expect him to get back into the lineup shortly.
