Giguere, who injured his groin Wednesday at Vancouver, appeared to skate and take shots at full-strength, but Cedrick Desjardins — who was called up from the minors to replace Giguere — also practiced, along with Semyon Varlamov.
Taking shots is definitely progress as the Avs hope to get their number one back soon. Until then, expect Semyon Varlamov to keep the job.
Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere will get his second consecutive start and fourth in five games Saturday when the Avalanche play the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.
In 37 career appearances against the Kings, Giguere has a 17-11-4-3 record with a 2.79 GAA, .905 SV% and two shutouts.
