The Bruins had no trouble getting the puck past Lundqvist in Game 2 but at the same time Rask stole the game for the B's. He stopped 35 of 37 shots in the 5-2 win. Both goalies have seen a ton of rubber this series. Lundqvist has faced 80 shots while Rask has seen 72 thrown his way. The Bruins first round series with the Maple Leafs was a fairly high-scoring one which resulted in Rask having a 2.49 GAA (10th in the playoffs) and a .923 SV% (7th). He will need to be on his 'A' game in the second round because he will be going head-to-head with Henrik Lundqvist.
Rask continued his strong play last night, but was once again bested by James Reimer. Rask allowed two goals on 26 shots in the 2-1 loss. Rask was 11-1-2 in his first 14 starts but went 8-9-3 after that. Rask is probably happy about taking on the Maple Leafs in the first round. He was 2-0-0 with a 0.85 GAA and .958 SV% vs. Toronto this year.
Rask posted a 30 save shutout on Thursday vs. the Lightning. He will get the call tonight vs. the red-hot Capitals. He is a must-start in all formats but it is not the best matchup.
