Whether or not Joe Pavelski skates today will be of note. The forward took a slap shot to the helmet from Detroit’s Nicklas Lidstrom on Sunday and although he returned, voiced some concerns after the game.
Sounds like the scoring forward is simply day-to-day. Pavelski has 22 goals and 45 points in 57 games. Stay tuned for a further update on his status.
Pavelski is already practicing with the big two. After scoring a career-high 66 points on the third line he should be a must-drafted player on the first.
That leaves a top line of Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski.
Pavelski should be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Heatley and Setoguchi departing. The Wisconsin native posted career highs in assists (46) and points (66) last season.
