“He wasn’t feeling quite right, and the doctors didn’t want to take a chance of sending him back,” explained Julien. “So we’ll probably learn more [Friday].
McQuaid apparently turned directly into the hit, exposing his backside to the Caps' forward. It could be yet another concussion for the big d-man.

PITTSBURGH–Adam mcQuaid will not return to today’s game with what looked like an upper body injury. McQuaid doubled over in pain after he went in on a hit on the Penguins’ James Neal in the first period.
Another injury for the physical defender. Expect a further update on McQuaid's status.

WILMINGTON, Mass. – Adam McQuaid was a new Bruins body missing from practice on Wednesday morning at Ristuccia Arena, and may be a question mark for Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes with a lower body injury.
McQuaid was injured during a fight last night and could miss some playing time. The physical defender has two goals and seven points through 43 games. Look for Andrew Ference to draw back into the lineup.
