van Riemsdyk flips onto the second line with Grabovski and Kulemin. MacArthur joins Kadri and Komarov.
The Leafs have only scored 3 goals in the first two games, two of which are from Kadri. This switch could get things going and JVR should be set to see more ice time. (AVG 13:46 in first 2 games)
James van Riemsdyk returns to Leafs practice today.
JVR bruised his foot blocking a shot on Tuesday, but looks like he'll be ready for Saturday. JVR has tremendous upside and will have the best opportunity of his young career. As long as he stays healthy a career is certainly possible.
JVR is not dressed for Maple Leafs scrimmage (Foot injury)
This is not how JVR wanted to start his career as a Leaf. There is no timetable for his return from the bruised foot. JVR could be in for a career season in Toronto if he can stay healthy.
The coach said he wouldn't hesitate to make a lineup change and it appears as though James van Riemsdyk, recovering from a broken left foot, may be ready.
JVR said after the game that he’d find out Friday how long he’ll be out, but early speculation was 4-to-6 weeks. Earlier this season, Flyers rookie Brayden Schenn was sidelined almost a month with a broken foot.
Van Riemsdyk could miss the rest of the regular season due to his broken foot. The power forward has been limited to only 43 games this season due to various injuries.
