If patterns are to be believed, there’s a very good chance defenseman Andrej Meszaros will return to the Flyers’ lineup for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New Jersey Devils.
Looks like Meszaros will replace Lilja on the Flyers blueline for game 5.
Kimmo Timonen, who had played in 248 straight games, and Andrej Meszaros were sidelined with lower-body injuries, according to GM Paul Holmgren. They are out indefinitely, he said.
Sounds like both players are expected to miss a few games. Meszaros scored seven goals and 25 points in 62 games this season.
Although Meszaros was also listed as having a maintenance day, even though he was hit fairly hard in the final seconds of Saturday’s win at Phoenix by Raffi Torres and reportedly went off the ice wincing in pain.
Meszaros is expected to rejoin the team tomorrow and shouldn't miss any playing time. With Chris Pronger already out, the Flyers can ill afford to lose a minutes eater like Meszaros.
