Peter Regin had surgery on his left shoulder in Toronto; out 4-6 months and for the season
Regin has yet another surgery which will knock him out for the season. At this rate, it would not be shocking for the Danish forward to miss a good chunk of next year too.
SAN JOSE – General manager Bryan Murray said it looks like Peter Regin is done for the season with the injury to his left shoulder.
He hasn’t decided to have surgery, but it nonetheless appears as if he won’t be back.
Very safe to drop Regin at this point. With the addition of Kyle Turris, the Danish center was unlikely to see valuable playing time.
If Regin elects to have surgery he will miss the next four months. It sounds safe to say the Danish center will miss a significant amount of playing time.
Regin just can't stay on the ice as he is expected to miss another significant chunk of playing time. The Danish center has only played in 10 games due to an injury earlier in the year. Look for Stephane Da Costa to get another look on the third line.
Regin gets back into the lineup for the first time since October 20th. Prior to going down, the Danish center looked like a fit in the Sens' new system with a goal and three points.
Prior to practice, Chris Neil and Peter Regin skated with coach Luke Richardson, working on skating, puckhandling and passing.
Regin getting on the ice is a good sign for the Sens, who could use some more depth up front. Prior to getting hurt he scored a goal and three points in five games as the second line center. Expect the Danish pivot to return over the next few weeks.
Doesn't sound like Regin will be playing any time soon as the Sens remain coy on their second line center. Through five games the Danish pivot posted a goal and three points. Look for Stephane Da Costa to fill in for him on the second line.
Coach Paul MacLean acknowledged yesterday that Regin, who looked like a natural fit for the number two centre spot on the team, is seeking a second opinion on how to proceed. It is possible that Regin could once again opt for surgery. He had surgery on the same shoulder late last season, after being hit into the boards by Joey Crabb of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Peter Regin will meet with doctors later today and could have a better idea on his prognosis. Shoulder is still in pain.
With Regin out, Stephane Da Costa will remain the team's second line center. The Danish center looked somewhat back-to-normal through five games, registering a goal and three points. Stay tuned for a further update on his status.
Maclean: Regin has reinjured the same shoulder. Out for tomorrow and is having further tests. #Sens
Tough break for Regin, who battled injuries and inconsistency for the last two seasons. Look for Zenon Konopka to play on a more regular basis barring any callup from the team.
Peter Regin will play tomorrow. Not sure who is coming out.
Look for Regin in the lineup tomorrow, perhaps in place of Nikita Filatov. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. He should improve those totals if healthy all season.
Peter Regin (shoulder) taking part in #Sens morning skate but is wearing a no-contact jersey. Unlikely to play at #Leafs.
Doesn't sound like Regin will play tonight but he is certainly close to returning to the lineup. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. Look for him to start the season on the third line.
It doesn’t appear as if Peter Regin will be ready for Friday’s season opener. Regin was more active during Wednesday’s practice in London, Ont., but was still wearing a blue ‘no contact’ sweater. “He didn’t take any contact, but I thought he was more of a participant, which is a good sign,” said MacLean. “We’ll get a better read on it and see where he is (Thursday).”…
Sounds like Regin is close to returning but might miss the first couple of games. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. While the Sens have an insurance plan in Mika Zibanejad, they likely hope their Danish playmaker can return to the 15 goal, 30+ point range.
